Eisa Nealy has made his decision — and James Madison University just landed one of Philadelphia's best young wide receivers.
The Roman Catholic standout announced his commitment to JMU on Easter Sunday, April 5. The class of 2027 prospect chose the Dukes over offers from Syracuse, Marshall, and Kent State. At 5'10" and 175 pounds, Nealy is a three-star recruit and one of the top 30 players in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Numbers Don't Lie
Nealy has been putting up big numbers for one of the toughest programs in the city. In the 2024-25 season, he caught 43 passes for 587 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. This past season he added 36 catches for 521 yards and 6 scores in 12 games, with a long reception of 80 yards. He's also a threat in the return game.
Two seasons at Roman Catholic. Two seasons of proving he belongs at the next level.
Why JMU?
Nealy says JMU felt right from the start. Wide receivers coach RJ Fleming made it clear he would have a chance to play early, and the program laid out a real plan for his development.
"JMU honestly felt like home," Nealy said, "and they have a plan laid out for me to be successful."
That kind of trust goes a long way. JMU is competing in the FBS Sun Belt Conference now, and they are building something real. Landing a talent from the Philadelphia Catholic League is a big deal.
Not Done Yet
Committing early doesn't mean Nealy is coasting. He has his eyes set on a state championship with the Cahillites and wants to top 1,000 receiving yards before his high school career is over. For a player who describes his game as "balanced and refined," those goals sound very reachable.
JMU is getting a playmaker. Philadelphia is sending another one to the college ranks.
