Archbishop Wood — 2017

On March 24, at Hershey's Giant Center, Wood beat Meadville, 73-40, to capture the Class 5A state title and complete a Catholic/City/State sweep. The championships were its first in 51 seasons of CL competition. Also, the Vikings enabled their school to pull off the very rare feat of winning football/basketball state titles in the same academic year. Collin Gillespie came close to a triple double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Thanks to five treys, Tyree Pickron totaled 18 points. Seth Pinkney (11) and sub Andrew Funk (10) also reached double digits for coach John Mosco and Pinkney added 11 rebounds, four blocks.
